The BROX 'zero-emission vehicle' was one of Europe's first 4-wheel, human-powered load-carriers. Chris co-designed and built several prototypes with his Highpath engineering partner, Dave Wrath-Sharman, in 1994.

It featured an articulated chassis, under-seat steering, a wide range of gears, a clutch, differential rear-wheel drive and hub-brakes. The chassis could accomodate various designs of payload up to 0.25 tonne.

The BROX was widely acclaimed and was featured on two BBC2 television design programs. But, although it helped to inspire many other vehicles, it never achived commercial success itself.
